So you're moving to San Diego...
...here are a five things to know about your new hometown.

San Diego, located in sunny southern California, is a popular relocation spot. With its mild climate, beautiful beaches, and thriving culture, it's easy to see why. But before you pack up and make the move, there are a few things you should know about what you can expect.
The Weather: San Diego is known for its warm and sunny weather, with average temperatures ranging from the high 60s to low 70s year round. (2023 has been a wet anomaly so far!) The city is also known for its low humidity, which can be a welcome change for those coming from more humid climates.
The Beaches: San Diego is home to some of the most beautiful beaches in the world, including La Jolla Cove, Coronado Beach, and Del Mar Beach. Each coastal area has a different personality from gentle coves to sheer beachside cliffs, and they are all beautiful. It doesn't matter if you're looking to surf, swim, or just relax and soak up the sun, there's a beach in San Diego for you and the kids too!
The Food Scene: When we moved here way back in the '90s, San Diego was a great place for fish tacos but wasn't know for its restaurants. Since then, America's Finest City has transformed into a foodie's paradise. Our scene now boasts the Michelin 3-Star restaurant Addison, one of only 6 in California and the only one not in the Bay Area. If you like your food a little more casual, try a California Burrito, a local delicacy that you won't find made properly anywhere outside of our county (carne asada, guac and fries? yes, please). There are also abundant farm-to-table restaurants and wonderful ethnic and regional cuisines. The city is also home to a thriving craft beer scene, with numerous microbreweries and taprooms.
The Culture: San Diego is a culturally rich city, with a thriving arts and entertainment scene. The San Diego Symphony and San Diego Opera, Shakespeare at The Olde Globe, the plethora of museums in Balboa Park, and a variety of regional community theaters will keep you busy expanding your cultured side.
Whether you're moving to San Diego for work, family, or just for a change of pace, there's a lot to love about this sunny city. With its beautiful beaches, thriving culture, and delicious food, you'll be sure to feel right at home.
